IVA MCU Connects International Space Station and Moscow City Duma
Today, March 23, Hero of Russia, cosmonaut and Moscow City Duma deputy Oleg Artemyev took part in a meeting of Moscow parliament from the International Space Station. The connection was established on the Russian video conferencing platform IVA MCU by IVA Technologies.
A draft of Moscow city law «On Awards and Honorary Titles of the City of Moscow» concerning the new honorary title of Honorary Worker of Information Technology and Communications of the City of Moscow was presented from near-earth orbit. This became possible due to modern information technologies that play an essential role in the development of the capital.
The implementation of the project on Oleg Artemyev’s remote participation from space owes to the support of Roscosmos, Moscow Department of Information Technology and of course Moscow City Duma.
«Modern video conferencing technologies have long been available effectively erasing the barriers that limit interactive communication in the modern world. They have made it possible to implement today what not so long ago sounded unreal, ” notes Stanislav Iodkovsky, CEO of IVA Technologies. «The Russian video conferencing system managed to provide full-fledged video communication with the orbital space station. We are justly proud of this and are grateful to all organizations and persons who made it possible to implement this significant and very interesting project!»
