Russian AI-Based Stenographer by IVA Technologies to Shorthand State Council Meetings for the First Time

State Council members’ addressing will be shorthanded by an automatic stenographer built into the IVA MCU video conferencing platform by the Russian IT company IVA Technologies.

During video conferencing, the IVA Technologies stenographer will use artificial intelligence to recognize the speech of participants. The AI will identify speech and intonation of each speaker using special algorithms and put them into text.

Mikhail Kireev, General Director of the Expert Coordination Center of the Commissions of the State Council of the Russian Federation:
«Test runs of the stenographer in the course of meetings of the State Council confirm the opinion that Russian IT companies can create high-quality products with better feature set than their foreign analogues. Automated stenographer by IVA Technologies will provide all State Council members with minutes immediately after the meeting.»

In real time, the stenographer will convert the theses of the State Council meeting into a text document tracking what and when was said, and who said that. The stenographer has no restriction on the number of participants: technologies allow recording and structuring the words of people speaking simultaneously without losing the essence.

Stanislav Iodkovsky, CEO of IVA Technologies:
«We are constantly working on developing the IVA corporate communications ecosystem. We introduce new products and expand the feature sets of existing solutions. The AI-based stenographer is a new tool of the IVA MCU video conferencing platform designed to significantly facilitate work processes. Recorded information will allow to save the words of each speaker without additional labor costs. Thanks to AI self-improvement, the stenographer captures at least 94% of what is said and minimizes possible errors. It can also create a short summary of the results of online events, set tasks and assign deadlines for their implementation. Moreover, the stenographer is trained in Russian grammar: it places punctuation marks and accurately identifies abbreviations.»
